Purpose

Make TrustStay’s “proof, not promises” model clear and reviewable.

Attorney focus

Confirm consent language for collecting, displaying, reviewing, and retaining photos.

Confirm how AI/photo risk labels can be described safely.

Confirm privacy, deletion, and evidence-retention rules.

Photo categories

Listing photos: used to describe the property publicly.

Turnover photos: used to verify the property is ready for the next guest.

Owner pre-arrival photos: used to show current condition before check-in.

Guest arrival photos: used to confirm acceptance or support refund review.

Dispute/support photos: used for case review, moderation, and records.

Photo quality standards

Photos should be current, clear, well-lit, and show the relevant room or issue.

Required rooms may include bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living room, entrance/outside, and any listed shared/private areas.

Owners and guests should not upload screenshots, stock images, unrelated photos, altered photos, or old photos when current evidence is required.

AI/photo review

TrustStay may use automated or manual review signals to flag duplicate, suspicious, low-quality, or high-risk photos. Final policy should state that AI/photo labels are support tools and not the only basis for final decisions.

Photo visibility

Counsel should confirm which photo categories may be visible to guests, owners, admins, support staff, future owners, future guests, or third-party providers. Internal dispute photos and admin review notes should be treated differently from public listing photos.

Access and retention

Final policy should define who can view photos, how long photos are retained, whether photos are deleted after a period, and when retention is extended for disputes, fraud prevention, legal claims, tax/accounting, safety, or chargebacks.
