Payment goes to escrow
When you book, your payment is held in a secure escrow account — not sent to the owner. Think of it as a safety deposit that protects you.
Owner submits photos
Before your check-in, the owner must photograph every room. These are timestamped and visible to you before you walk in.
You decide on arrival
When you arrive, you have 2 hours to compare the real condition to the submitted photos. Clean? Accept. Not clean? Request a refund.
Instant refund if rejected
If you reject the stay with evidence, your full payment is refunded — no questions asked. We handle any dispute with the owner.
Leave a verified review
After your stay, rate the cleanliness. Your review updates the property's score and helps future guests make better decisions.

Create a listing and connect your Stripe account. Guests who book via TrustStay tend to trust verified properties more.
Submit pre-check-in photos
Within 24h of each check-in, photograph every room via the app. Photos are timestamped and sent to the guest automatically.
Payment protection for you too
Escrow works both ways. You don't get paid until the guest accepts, but you're protected from false chargebacks on clean properties.

High cleanliness scores earn you featured placement, more bookings, and a "Certified Clean" badge visible to all guests.
Common questions
What happens if the owner doesn't submit photos?
If the owner fails to submit photos within 24h of check-in, you can cancel the booking for a full refund — no dispute required.
What if I reject the place, but the owner disputes it?
Our team reviews both sets of photos (owner's and yours). If the place was indeed dirty, you get a full refund and the owner's cleanliness score drops.
Can the owner submit old photos?
Photos are timestamped by our system when uploaded. Submitting photos from a different date is a violation that results in immediate account suspension.
When does the owner receive the money?
Funds are released to the owner's bank account within 1–2 business days after you confirm the place is clean.
What does the platform fee cover?
The 8% platform fee covers escrow management, dispute resolution, payment processing, and our 24/7 support team.
