Host listing steps

1

Describe exactly what guests can book

Choose entire place, private room, shared room, guest suite, studio, or basement unit. Be very clear about shared bathroom, kitchen, entrance, and whether the owner lives on property.

2

Upload honest listing photos

Show the rented space, bathroom access, kitchen/living area, entrance, amenities, and any shared areas. TrustStay currently requires at least 5 offer photos.

3

Confirm local rules and tax responsibility

Before submitting, confirm permission to host, local rental rules, permit/license status, tax responsibility, and payout/chargeback responsibility.

4

Submit fresh turnover photos

After each guest leaves, upload current room photos before the listing accepts the next booking. This protects both the next guest and the host.

Photo checklist

Bathroom: toilet, sink, shower/tub, floor, towels, mirror
Bedroom/room: bed, floor, closet/storage, windows, surfaces
Kitchen: counters, sink, stove, refrigerator area, dishes/food residue
Living/shared spaces: seating, floors, table, windows, common areas
Entrance/exterior: door, hallway/outside approach, lock/key area
Amenities: workspace, parking, laundry, pool, hot tub, gym, pet areas, if included

Avoid these mistakes

Old photos reused after a guest leaves
Edited, filtered, cropped, or misleading photos
Hiding shared spaces or owner-occupied details
Accepting bookings before the space is actually ready
Ignoring support/admin requests for new evidence
